A couple weeks ago I was creating some some jobs for a different tool in one of our machines. I ran into some type of memory error. I don't recall exactly what it was. I was in a hurry so I just deleted some old jobs and finished up my project. I have more jobs that I need to put into this machine. The error that I get when I try to load jobs back in from the card is error 3210 position no. storage area not found.
When I look at the job capacity screen I see that I have memory left but I see that the robot steps remain is only 13 after I try to load my new jobs.
Is this my Problem? Is there anything I can do about it?

Hi , as you already suspect , I believe the "working " area is to small . XRC has always been a little misleading regards the memory size for user .

tray to do a backup and after that delete some unneccesary job from your controller.

Yeah, I was able to make new jobs if I delete some. But now I need those jobs back in. The part that is confusing me is that it says I have more unused memory than used. It say that I don't have any robot steps remaining. I was wondering if the memory is divided up, and I could reallocate some memory for the robot steps? If that is the problem.

The quickest way to over come this is to install a 16 mg compac flash card with PCMIA adapter. You can then shift your jobs ( save & load) from the systems memory to the CF card.
In case you haven't read about the 16 mg CF backup card , you will need to source a card ( memory supplies .com) and have it formated to suit XRC , only specific type of FAT format will work on XRC.
"We buy cheap CF cards ie.385 mg and format them to correct 16 mg FAT." -
The only way to get more robot steps available is to buy an expansion memory board for the XRC which plugs directly into the XCP01 board... but with XRC now being 15 years old, these expansion piggyback boards are getting harder to come by.

We had Motoman came over and install two of those and now its working like a champ. we order the mentioned cards and the instructions to install them but there are 2 or 3 steps missing on those instructions so we had them come over and install them. Make sure you do a full back up because it will delete all the information you have in there. -

They sent me a quote for parts and install.
