Damn mice. While preparing to remove the card that the pendant connects to I noticed that mice had been chewing on the harness between the pendant socket and board. Repaired the harness and and was welding with it today.
Thank you Robodoc.

Swapping pendants with one from a working machine did not solve my TP_CPU error, While in the Maintenance Mode I went into the Keypad / Pendant test and every key on the keypad and pendant registers when pressed.
Thank You, I'll swap them in the next day or two. Tried to come up what the TB was but never would have gotten to "Teach Box".
I have 2 ERC/K6 package where the batteries have gone completely dead. I have replaced the batteries and done the normal routine to bring them back to life but am getting a Connection Error
"TB _CPU" on one of them and am unable to find any mention of this error anywhere.
Now I know they are old and before you suggest that I scrap them or "push them off of a cliff" please listen to my reason for trying to repair them.
Upon retiring in 2015 I donated a couple ERC-K6 packages to a local non-profit organization that rehabs young adults. Due to COVID, these machines have set idle for a while and the batteries went dead. They would like to get them back up and running and I volunteered to try.
I have replaced the batteries on both of them and one of them came back to life. The other is displaying the error mentioned above when the Maintenance / Parameters switch is in the center position and everything stops there. If I place the switch in the Param position and boot it will go into the default home screen. Everything looks normal and when I start the servos the contactor pulls in and the servos drives are not showing any errors but I do get a message "On-Line without initial check" and the servos are quiet and nothing will move. The Absolute data in the home position is either 0 or single digit positive numbers for all of the axis. This is true if I leave the switch is in the Param position or I switch it back to the center position after boot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I provided enough information.
Thanking you in advance
Bob
Is there a similar routine for a ERC to calibrate TCP for welding. We get a slight deviation in Z over 6" that we compensate for by adding a 2nd teach point at 3". Thanks
Thank You. That works.
Thanks for the reply. I'm going to have to clean my glasses and go back and look at the control again, but I haven't seen a GETS instruction on the menu tree. Got a GETE but didn't see a GETS. There's a POSOUT under the I/O branch, that I haven't determined what it does.
Any chance GETS was optional or parameter selectable?
Is there, and if so what is the instruction to copy the current robot postion into a position variable, within a program on a ERC controller? We're looking for a way to calculate the starting point for a weld where there is variances in the material size.
Did you use an ESR meter to check the caps. Ohm meter tells you if they are open or shorted but not leaky.
What is the part numbers on the servos. If they're the same as my ERC I'd be willing to test them for you.
Are you seeing an error on the servopack display? If so what is it?
Thanks Robodoc. Error is gone. Did Motoman man ever publish a programming manual that defines all of the instructions. We can do the basics with the teach pendant and manipulate the IO but would like to do some more advanced applications.
Just went through the same thing on a ERC K10. Look at the display on the servo packs and see if you are getting an error on them. You can find the manuals on line for the servopacks that list the error codes. We solved the issue by replacing all of the electrolytic capacitors on the servo drives. Thing runs like a Swiss watch now.
Problem is solved... It was a bad power supply on the "U" servopack.
Gotta a Motoman ERC with the general application that prompts me to "check specified point" when I enter the play mode. If I hit run at this point I get an "0360" alarm telling me that I did not check the specified point. I can find a process for checking it for a MRC controller but nothing for the ERC. Can someone provide me with the process.
When entering the play mode, I get a notice to check specified point and when I hit run I get a 0360 error that tells me the specified point was not checked. Can anyone provide the process for setting the specified point on an ERC?
Thanx
I've got a Motoman ERC that at boot, gives me a 782 Error, Dropped Phase. I've looked all over the web and can't find any information as to what causes it. I can get it to go away by powering down but it's happening more often so I'm sure the day will come when it wont go away.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
