Functionality in D5 (Deneb, IGRIP, Ultra) that you wish was in V5 (Catia based).

This is a question for the D5 (Deneb:IGRIP, UltraProduct) user who has migrated/upgraded/downgraded to Catia/V5 based simulation.

The question is what functionality in D5 you wish was in V5? My goal is not to down V5 but maybe we can get some responses informing us how to do certain things in V5. Or maybe a rep. will see it and add the functionality to the next release.

    So here it goes:

    1. GSL/CLI: The main thing I am missing are program control functionality: writing macros that I can loop, condition handlers (WHEN), pretty much the do anything power/functionality of a high level language.

    Your turn....

Unfortunately, you will not get GSL/CLI functionality to V5 or V6. The open software days are over. IGRIP was developed originally by four Cornel students - later Deneb founders. The software was meant to be open for further developments and many university graduates did remarkable applications with IGRIP and ENVISION. You could do more with V5 or V6 if you were a CAA authorized user. But that will cost you money.

In V6 you will get program control functions. Not GSL but at least something ...

Programming GSL/CLI was a great skill to have back when. Coding in IGRIP you could pretty much do anything you could dream up, and the telerobotics interface didn't hurt either. The V5 products are great for making simulations but nothing out of this world. I see that V6 has a logic solver that graphically looks like a flow chart. No language, but seems to have all the if/then/else commands. It has a concept of multi cycle simulations, and has some gravitational properties. The graphics are outstanding and it looks like it handles an exceptional amount of data.
