The current question has fix....
It is just set the language from Japanese to English.Doubt of the servicing. Can anyone get me the maintenance manual?
-
If the contoller is set up for multi-language SHIFT+AREA will toggle the languages.
If Japanese is set to 1st language this is why it boots to Japanese. -
Tony's right, SHIFT+AREA will change the language ONLY if you have dual language and one is set to English.
If you have installed a new XCP01 board or someone has tried to do a partial initialization or your memory is corrupt you can end up with Japanese only. You may need a service call to fix this.

Thank to all of you for your help....
Regarding to the language, I already fix it.
The solution is need to enter the management password and it only allow the owner to change the language.
shift + area is not functionable, i think it might due to the memory lost problem.Let me tell you the story. This happen due to the memory battery is out of supply.
Due to several months without operate the machine, the memory inside the controller has gone. I need to resetting the factory setting plus write my program due to I never back up the program previously.
The major problem is the amplifier pulse mismatch. Can anyone send me some useful information to reset this alarm and do the factory setting.
Thanks. -

You must initialize the system
if it is only a robot....it is easy......if it has external axis....it may be more difficult... -
I just a new user to this Motoman robotic arm.
Ya, I need to initialize the system. Can you send me the manual to initialize the system?
-
Is it a stand alone robot ? or does it have options?......do you have a cmos.bin backup?
-
Hi,
My robot is Motoman UP130 and the controller is YASNAC XRC.
I just started to handle this robot and my superior told me that they have no back up the CMOS.bin data. All the memories including the actual program lost due to the memory battery out of supply and the robot is not operate since March 2010. -
I've just bought a new UP130 with XRC controller, version 2005 from Taiwan
From this thread, I power on the controller while pressing TOP button, chose system (icon a robot with a cabinet !).
In system, both of language 1 and 2 (display in LCD "1 言語" and "2 言語") are setting to Japanese (日本語) , I cannot change to English!
I want to know: is there any way to change the second language to English. Or does my XRC have only Japanese?. If that, how can i change to english?
Prom version is X.671A(JP)-00 -
If you notice the software version, it does not give you the standard option of (JP/US) in the software version that we would see in North America. So you won't be able to change the language yourself. You may need to contact your local Yaskawa rep to have them come in and upgrade / downgrade the software to an appropriate multilingual version that includes English. Good luck to you!

Thanks for your information.
There is no Yaskawa's representative office in my local. Even with their rep office, I will not be given their support because my robot was purchased from used machine store in Taiwan (used machines in this store were collected from Japan and then sold to customer).
If my version is only in Japanese, can I either purchase a XCP01 CPU board from USA or install a new language by using PC Card to convert this version into English? Thanks and best regard!

Worst case scenario, yes, you may be able to buy an XCP01 card from Yaskawa Motoman in the U.S. However XRCs are getting old (14 - 15 years) and getting spare parts is becoming more difficult.... so this may be a little trickier than it sounds. You may have to look at a used robot dealer also.... they may have XRC spare parts....
