On what robot? Real or simulation? If simulation, what simulation software?

You posted to the KUKA Cobot sub-forum, not the KUKA Sim sub-forum.
I'll see if I can move the thread.
In the home tab, use the PnP (plug and play) and it will connect any tool you imported into the sim with it's mount frame.
Additionally make sure you use the "End Effector wizard" in the Modeling tab first to give your tool a mount frame.

In Kuka Sim, in the help tab, there's a "Academy" tab. I imagine he went into there to fine the VisualComponents learning catalog of videos. Many of them are applicable to Kuka Sim (as the company was acquired by Kuka to the best of my knowledge)
