I've got a Thermo CRS a465 robot and the c500c controller. They didn't come with motor and feedback cables, so i had to make my own. They're just straight-through cables.
I'm able to get arm power to turn on only very briefly before i get an error on the terminal saying "encoder feedback cable error". I have checked encoder feedback, all 6 encoders change values whenever i push on a joint on the arm.
I was wondering if there was anybody in here who has used CRS robots before, and might know what the controller is looking for to check if the feedback cable was plugged in or not.

Don't know about that specific robot but servo cables as well as their issues are rather common thing. you probably did not make the cables correctly, possibly you even used wrong cable type. It is not enough to just make 1 to 1 connections. Cables need to be shielded and shield need to be correctly grounded. Also conductors need to be twisted to cancel interference. And it need to be specific conductors that are on one twisted pair.
So i would say share any info on motor and encoder as well as cable types you used and how you connected them. Then we can review the situation and make recommendations to fix it
