I have connected the signal cable from an ABB 120 robot to XS41 instead of XS2.

Then after that, it gave me a battery backup of SMB that had been lost and The brakes of the robot didn't release even when I Push the blue button to release the brake, It didn't release.

when I try to move it the brakes are holding it even when it is moving.

    what should I do??????

XS2 (SMB1) and XS41 (SMB2) have the same connections have the same pinout. Loss of battery backup fault may be due to data mismatch or you could have a weak SMU battery.

IRB120 brake connections are handled thru the MP1 connector.

When trying to move the robot, brakes will not release unless contactor K44 engages.

Since it happens when trying to move and thru the brake release button, double-check connections going to the contactor board and G1 power supply.

At first I would thank you for replying,

    I have some questions :
    - How can I check the contactor signals?
    - Is it possible to disassemble SMB cable to check that there's no lossy cable?
    - what is the MP1 connector and where i can find it ?

If the SMB cable is bad, there will be a communication error.

Please concentrate on the correcting issue that does not allow the robot to jog.

Connection MP1 is the motor power connector.

You should download the product manuals for the robot and the controller so you can reference the advice you will receive from the many experienced folks on this forum. If you are unsure of which manuals, please post pictures of the controller label, robot label and the version of RobotWare software the system is using.

 Yes if you can correctly reassemble it.
