we have R2000 series Fanuc robot with Rj3iB conroller.
It is giving lot of problems so we like to upgrade it with R30iA controller.
can someone help us in guiding if it is possible to replace the Rj3iB with R30iA controller.

Have you checked to see what image/Robot arm is on the 30IA cabinets? I have done this before but the kinematics of the robot was off. We were able to change variables to try to mimmick the kinematics but DCS still had faults. The 30IA cabinets I had were for a 2000IB 210F

If it doesn't have the same exact robot model already loaded, you'd need to talk to Fanuc to see if the can burn new software for you. I'm sure that wouldn't be cheap.
