    Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is doing well with robot projects.

Do any of you guys have any experience designing parts, and models for roboguide in Autocad?

The company I work for designs parts or machines that I Have to use in roboguide to make offline programs/Simulations using Autocad Illustrator and I never get the cad file in the correct orientations. sometimes it's upside down or even sideways.

Is there a particular plane (XY,YX,ZX....) that you have to use to get the correct orientation of the model in roboguide (i.e. make a tool model XYZ coordinates the same as world coordinates)?

This is not a problem if the model/machine is not part of the simulation. but when it comes to moving parts it's a nightmare.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't done this with AutoCAD, but with other 3d modeling software is seems that the orientation always comes in relative to world, for parts/machines and utool 0 for end effectors.

With SolidWorks you can create reference coordinate systems and export the model in respect to this reference system.

Think this should be possible with other CAD systems as well.
