Hello.
I have an old ABB IRB 1400 M2000 without controller.
Is there a way to move the arm manually? I want to use it as a decoration in our school, so I need to change the position and then fix it.
Thank you.

It should be possible. Those robots normally have 6 buttons at the socket, one for each axis.
You have to provide 24V to the pins for brakes at the socket connector, then you can release brakes with the buttons and move the axis of the sspressed button.
!!! Attention: axis 2 and 3 are very heavy, you will need a crane or something like that to prevent axis from falling down.!!!!!
Attached are the instructions from the product manual for releasing the brakes on your IRB1400. The single button at the base of the robot will release all 6 axes at once, so caution is highly advised as the robot is heavier than it looks. Be very aware of pinch points.
That's great.
It's exactly what I am looking for.
Thank you.
