Looking into upgrading the power source and wire feeder for a Motorman Arc-World 6000 MRC Controller with K10 robot (currently it uses a Motoarc 500i, UWI board and PWF600 feeder). We have a Miller Auto-Axcess 450 DI and AA-40GB /OCP feeder. We need additional parts and part numbers for the upgrade, (ie. device-net card, cables from controller to power source, and cables from power source to feeder). Any information in regards to the setup procedure, parts numbers and other components for upgrade would be very helpful. Thank you.
Help with upgrading an Arcworld 6000 weld cell MRC controller from a Motoarc 500I to a Miller Auto Axcess 5 DI

Wow, wow, and wow. Not impossible, nothing is with enough time and money. As far as I remember the only widely used communication card on MRC in the US was MARIO, serial blue hose. The MRC controller (1994-1998) was designed and released before DeviceNet came out. Does your DI also have analog inputs?

Our Auto-axcess 450DI does not have analog inputs, but we do have a spare Auto-axcess 450 (analog version). Would the non digital be an easier upgrade fit for the MRC?

There is no D-Net for MRC. The only way to do this is to get the Miller Digital to analog converter from Miller. You may need to change the Weldco cable (this is the cable that runs from the analog card to the weld power supply). The new Weldco cable has a small Amp connector for doing weld program select. If you are going to use different weld programs you will need the Miller program select cable from Yaskawa/Motoman and wire it to some outputs on your digital outputs.
You will need to re-make the the welder definition file (the current power source may not have the same weld settings as your new one). There is no MRC welder definition (weldrdef.dat file) for this power source.
Just a heads up. You'll be putting a lot of time and money into this MRC robot. If 3 months from now the harness or a servo pack goes bad your dead in the water. There are no more MRC parts.
