Hi, my KUKA KR210 with KRC2 (running KSS 5.4 under Windows XP) has no profibus port;
i wish to add it for cheap since it is used only as a toy.
Does anyone has experience with Siemens cards?
I know that for using the CP5611 you need a SOFTNET software since that card has no processor,
on the other hand the more expensive CP5614 has onboard CPU (called HARDNET family).
Is the CP5611 usable? Which software component do i need? Does that stress too much the main CPU?
Thank you
Profibus CP5611 instead of CP5614 for KRC2 ?

The only way to use a Profibus card in a KRC2 is to use one that KUKA has provided a driver for. And as far as I recall, only the CP5614 (and maybe the CP5613?) were ever available.

Also you can only use the Kuka card not the Siemens one as the firmware is special on the Kuka card I believe
I might have a card going cheap if your interested it's new boxed -
CP5614 card by Siemens usable for KRC2 (Win XP, Win 95). I use this cards.

Do youa have experience is the CP5614 A3 also compatible with KRC2 or it needs A2?
KRC2 has by default only fw5613A2.bin firmware icluded.
