I am implementing a robot cell where a very small change out on the robot EOAT is required for a low-running part. The change is small, the parts won't run on the cell much, so the change didn't warrant the expense in having a whole separate auto-change EOAT setup.
The operator will make the change by changing 1 piece over by loosening 2 M8 bolts. Does RIA require that the cell main power be shut off and LOTO implemented? Or does regular exclusive control (fortress lock keys or similar) suffice? I don't want to have to power the cell down and use LOTO for the changeover. I'm wondering what the RIA says about what has to be done when operators use tools on the EOAT. Any help or references would be greatly appreciated.
