I have a KRC2 controller that was intermittently dropping out of operation mode. Disconnecting, then reconnecting the X11 plug would re-establish the proper mode. This problem increased in regularity over the course of time to the point where it would not reset. I tried replacing the ESC board but can't reset ANY of the safeties now. Is there a procedure to replacing the ESC board or should I be able to plug and play?

Try push micro switch on ESC board for reset.

"Dropping out of operation mode"? What does this mean, exactly?
This fault most often happens when the ESC board loses power. The ESC requiring a reset usually occurs when a bad connection causes one of the dual safety channels to have a single-channel fault -- each dual-channel safety signal has relay sets whose condition cannot differ between Ch1 and Ch2 for more than a few milliseconds, or else they will "lock" into the single-channel fault state and cannot exit it unless the ESC board's power is removed, or the ESC board reset button is pressed.
Most often on KRC2s, I saw single-channel ESC faults when someone removed and re-connected X11 -- unless X11 was plugged in quickly and smoothly, the timing delay on different channels from the pins making contact could throw the ESC board into a single-channel fault.
"Can't reset any of the safeties now". Again, what, exactly, does this mean? What error messages do you have? What are the states of the X11 contacts? Does the ESC board have power, and what are the states of the status LEDs?

Thank you for the feedback. The root cause turned out to be a loose wire on X5 connector to CI3 board (+Vcc).
