Message cannot be clearer. KSS Version (Kernel) and RafeRDC versions are not compatible unless something is not installed correctly. This is also documented in SafeRobot 2.0 documentation in troubleshooting section. You can try to reload KSS and SafeRobot software or replace RDC.

absolutely not...
just because you purchase a second hand car, that at the time of original purchase may have Goodyear tires, YOU are not entitled to ask Goodyear for new tires now - at least not for free. they will happily SELL them to you.
EVERYTHING you get with your second hand purchase is EXACTLY what you got.
no schematics? too bad....
no documentation? too bad....
no software? too bad....When KUKA robot is sold, it is sold with SPECIFIC software release. you can ask KUKA to give you THOSE versions and maybe they will not charge you (you won't be charged for software but may be charged service/handling/shipping fee). asking for anything else means you need to buy it...! And asking for original software versions still means YOU need to PROVE that this is your robot now and identify it (pictures of nameplates of robot and controller).
When you buy robot from KUKA, it comes with software. software is numbered in a form A.B.C.D
A.B is a major version (yes, BOTH first two numbers matter). if these first two numbers do not change, you don't have to pay for new license.
C is a minor version
D is a build numberFor example if you have a KSS8.3.8 you should have no problem getting KSS8.3.26 for example. Your license is good for all KSS8.3.
But if you want to upgrade to a KSS8.5 - well, that will cost you.Same goes for any of the tech packages. If your robot was sold with SafeOp 1.1.x.x and KSS 4.1.7.x
then you are only entitled to THOSE versions.
Moving up to SafeOp 2.0 or 2.1, or KSS5.x is against license terms. you need to pay.YOU ARE FREE TO CONTACT VENDOR DIRECTLY. WHAT THEY DO IS THEIR BUSINESS...
ASKING FOR ANY COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE HERE WILL GET YOU BANNED. -
I obviously legitimately own a kuka robot with SafeRobot already...
just because you say it, does not make it true... you need to prove it.
"robot" is just a robot arm. does not include controller or safety options or any other tech packages.
what you may have purchased is a "robot system".
it means it is a collection of components (robot manipulator, controller, teach pendant, safety interface, software etc.)exact configuration may vary and value can be dramatically different. The exact configuration at the time of original robot sale is not necessarily the same what you got. maybe previous owner sold part of the system to someone else and now you are asking for freebies. owning safeRDC does not entitle you to get new cabinet, software etc.
just because you are "home owner" does not entitle you to mansion with servants, swimming pool, tennis court, underground garage and helipad - even if it that was a part of an original system once upon time...
