I am setting up a tool frame on a fanuc mate 200id. When I jog the tool with all zeros in the x,y or z direction, it moves in an arc instead of a linear motion. I looked at the coordinate position in user and saw that all three axis changed, instead of just the one I was trying to move. We doubled check to make sure the mastering was setup correctly and it was. Does anyone have any advice on how to solve this issue?

Is the right robot type installed?
-
I am pretty sure but how do you check that?
-
Not sure about that, haven't done Fanuc in a while. Sorry

Under Menu -> Status -> Version ID -> F3 (Config, i think)
This is a list of all installed "Options" or packages. This includes the physical robot. The physical aspects seem to have an H### ID (Not every H### is physical, there is definitely rhyme and reason to the ID's, but it is not 100% clear)
For Example, i have
M-20iA/12L (H849)
Basic Positioner (H896)The options will be organized alphabetically at first, but at after one lap through the alphabet, there were additional lines in no apparent order. This is where i found it for mine.
I believe this should indicate the installed type of robot that the controller is trying to drive.

Thanks.....we found that our type is correct. Ours is Lr handling tool H551.

What mode are you jogging in?
If you are jogging in tool then x,y, and z could very well all change and be correct.
Have you tried jogging in user mode and verifying it moves in a straight line.

This is gonna sound condescending, but are you sure you're not moving in JOINT instead of USER? I've had it happen when a client called us with this issue. Was an awkward phone call.
Also, check this please: FCTN -> Toggle WRIST JOG. You need to be in WORLD coordinates for it to show up.
