Hello, I am very very new to robots and programming them particularity. I'm a welder and work has recently purchased a LR Mate 200iD with a R-30iB Mate controller to perform some of our tasks and have given to me and one other to sort out how to program it correctly.
I've come up with what I want to achieve, and I've started reading the operation manuals but I'm still confused with how to accomplish what I want to do.
As the machine will be performing welds on the same size parts, My idea is to have the robot move across 800mm and down 0.5 mm and then back 800 mm, then down again and repeat this action once more. I can do this action manually through the controller but obviously by hand means it is not exact as I moved it along a hand held ruler.
My second question that I couldn't get my head around was how to move this around different planes, as in my head moving it 90 degrees would change the x and y direction.
Hopefully I've got some more ideas by the time this is answered, and I appreciate any help that anyone can offer.
