I read a post somewhere and now I can't seem to find it, where someone said they where preventatively restoring the backup image to their robots on a regular basis. I would like more information on this, we seem to be having a problem with robots needing to be restored and hurting production. If anyone has any information on this can you please let me know. Thanks

Thank you and yes I was asking about periodically restoring the image. I am certain I read a post where someone said they just went ahead and restored the image to their robots on a certain schedule to try and avoid downtime. I was really hoping to find this, as we are having issues with needing to restore images fairly often and I would like to find more information about this.
Thanks again.

I was really hoping someone could help with this. Out of nearly 30 robots, there are several that are constantly needing to be restored. Has anyone ran into this problem before?

Why are you restoring images to robots so frequently?
-
They fail to start, something is corrupting them. Only way to get them to work again is to reload the image backup. In some cases, we were unable to make an image backup on some robots due to an older board and we were stuck doing a complete reinstallation.

I don't think that this is actually resolving your problem.
Restoring an image " because the robot won't start" is like killing an ant with a steam roller.
Find out why the robot won't start and go from there.
What type of robot, what is the controller model, and what is the production start method. -
Well when the fanuc tech comes they reinstall the image to get the robot running again. That is their solution as well.

PM me the Fanuc Techs name! you are in the US right?
Also if you can get an all files backup when it is working and then get one when it fails, from the same robot.
Then you can email them to me and I can look at them and tell you what might be the problem.
