I have an R-30iB controller running firmware V8.30. One (and seemingly only one) of my numeric registers seems to have a locked label. I can try to modify it, but when I hit Enter to save, it just bounces back to what it was before. Never seen this behavior before, does anyone know how to unlock it?
Stuck Register Label

Sounds like there is something in the background writing to it. Or something in the PLC writing to it. Have you checked these?

Make sure the teach pendant is on. There are some things that can't be changed while it is in the off position.

Haven’t set up anything in the PLC that would be changing labels. Nothing I know about in the background. We don’t have any BGLogic set up on this project.
I’ve tried turning the TP on and it doesn’t make a difference.

What register number is it and what is its current label? Could it be something setup for use by the controller? I am not sure if any such this exists.
I just went and tested, if a register is used in a write protected program, you are still able to edit the register's label, so you can rule that out as a cause.

I am going to state the obvious here. I assume there is either no passwords set? Or you entered the correct password? I have never seen it act that way before.
We have written karel code that will auto fill a registers name. Just because customers like to play. -
what is the purpose of your code?
Could you share it?

Ivan,
I am not at my work computer, but will post when I can. We use it to make sure nobody writes over certain register labels we use. We use it up front when designing a new cell, but then we also write some background logic that every so often will overwrite those registers labels back to our "standard" label structure.
