Hello Robot-Forum and especially the Vim users among you,
I'm, Patrick, the author of krl-for-vim and rapid-for-vim.
Since I found one of my plugins linked here, I thought this might be a good place to get some criticism.
I program industrial robots since 2000 and use Vim since about 2010. At this time there was imho no good syntax highlighting for Kuka or Abb out there, so I started writing my own. At some point I decided to publish what I have done, because I like the open source idea and I thought my highlighting is not that bad to hide it any more. Today those plugins do much more than only coloring text. They auto indent, set some imo reasonable settings and help you to find around robot backup folder structure.
I post here for three reasons:
1. Advertising: If you like those plugins, please rate them on vim.org.
2. Criticism: If you don't like those plugins, let me know why and give me the chance to make you not rating them bad on vim.org.
3. Help: Maybe there are some Vim and/or KRL/Rapid gurus here who may want to help (if only with bug reports) improving those plugins for the good of all of us.
Also, I'm forced to use windows, because of Process Simulate and Delmia. So I test my plugins only every once in a while with Linux. I would like to know if there are any bugs or inconveniences appearing on Unix like operating systems. I have never tried Neovim. Maybe someone can let me know his/her experience with those plugins in Neovim.
Surly if you have any questions about how to use/configure those plugins don't hesitate to ask here. But please, try to use my help first. I tried my best to explain everything there.
Oh, and there are modified versions of onerobotics Karel and Fanuc-TP plugins available here and here. TP is highly modified and Karel contains only a little bug fix. Note that those are treated with less passion then Krl and Rapid.
So far, happy vimming and robot programing ;o)
