Hi All,
New to ABB robots. Previously a Fanuc and MM guy. I am new at this company and never received a turnover from the previous Apps Engineer on his programming or any issues. I successfully calibrated a robot yesterday using my previous knowledge from my Fanuc days. The operator seemed to be somewhat competent on operating the pendant. He was flipping around looking for the right program to run. He finally found it and got it to run but the 40196 Error keeps popping up:
40196, Instruction error
Description Task arg: Attempt to
execute place holder
Recommended actions
Remove the place holder or the
instruction containing it, or make the
instruction complete. Then continue
execution.
The program still runs, but it is causing some hate and discontent. My question is, what exactly is the error/where is it at/how to find it...
Am I looking for an incomplete instruction? Did the calibration cause this or did the operator fat finger something. I will be going to ABB in the future,, so hopefully I can be a more of a contributor in the future. Thanks.
