Just want to say have read many post on here and many are very helpfull!
Needing some help with UOP. I have worked with fanuc robots for a bit now but they have always been turn key from the machine builders so this will be my first time integrating a robot into a machine. So, take it easy on me.
I need to start/stop the robot with the PLC. The engineer wants to just use discrete i/o because thinks it will be the easiest way. Can this be done? My thinking is if we use discrete i/o to run a wire from PLC to robot controller to the UOP for the start/stop. If this is possible where in the robot control cabinet are the UOP?
