This is my favorite part of the press release:
"With the help of the programming guide, even first-time robot users can create a program for a simple handling task and execute it in just 30 minutes."
That should be interesting to see.

I'm just glad it says this
For those customers more comfortable with the current interface, the new iPendant can easily revert to the previous version.

Don't know if anyone else on here watches Fanuc's Friday Webinars, but this is the Webinar for tomorrow May 5th:
New R-30iB Plus Hardware, Software and Pipeline Changes: What you Need to Know
-
Just got done watching Fanuc's Webinar on the new R30iB Plus controller and there are some new things that look pretty interesting. I snapped some pics during the webinar, but they are from a projector so some are pretty low quality. Also if anyone has cRc site access the webinar should be archived and available to watch in a week or two.
Here are some of the things mentioned in the webinar, and all items mentioned are IIRC.
- It looks like these wont be available until roughly September.
- The R30iB Plus will come with 9.1 software, and you cannot update an R30iB to 9.1, it is only meant to be ran on the Plus with its additional processing power.
- The Plus should show up on Roboguide around the same time the physical robots start showing up.
- Ethernet will be ran out to the EOA so you can use a GigE camera.
- There will be a 24v power supply available in cabinet for running I/O.
- New Remote iPendant option allows using a tablet to jog the robot by swiping the screen(Cant imagine how this could go bad)
- Screens updated with new info
- Teaching TCP now gives you an error value, presumably so you know if you need to try again. Sounds like a good feature for rookies
P.S. I am not a Fanuc employee, but just wanted to share what I found pretty interesting.

I WIN!!!
We have actually had a couple of these here at the shop for a couple weeks, but today was the 1st day I started actually working on it. I was actually about to start loading the core software today and my boss just casually mentions something about it being one of the "new" ones. I didn't know what he meant until I noticed the Plus on the end of the R30iB sticker.
Im sure somebody else might have had one first, but it doesn't count if you didn't post it here.
