Solved. This robot has an older version listed in
    $HSCDMNGRP[1].$PARAM_VERID
I probably can't fix it without money. :icon_rolleyes:

    I have an R-30iA running Spot Tool + V7.5P/18
When a collision alarm is active and the operator presses SHIFT + Reset, the Collision Guard feature disables without the familiar yellow prompt box asking if we want it disabled.

When the SHIFT key is released, Collision Guard re-enables of course.
But I want my yellow prompt box back, so I will have the option to say no.

    Another SysVar maybe??
Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't believe that this feature became available till v8.3.

I never remember seeing it till the R30iB came out.

I do not think that is the issue. I have dozens of R-30iA robots of the same software version that respond as I expect upon pressing SHIFT + Reset with an active collision detect.
Something else must be at play.
I have attached a picture of the hints screen of one of those R-30iA robots.

If you have access to KAREL, you can do pretty much what you want.
    1. Monitor for the occurence of the collision detect alarm with CONDITION ... ENDCONDITION structures
    2. Enable/Disable the collision guard detection with $HSCD_GROUP[1].$COL_DET_OFF system variable
    3. Display a prompt box with the DISCTRL_DIAG built in and a simple XML file

Sure perhaps there might be an easiest way, but this one will work just as well
