If I want to make a backup All Off Above, and I want to do it directly on a pc, not on USB or MC, can I do it by Roboguide (I didn't see the function in RG),
or can it (also) be done by the webbrowser. Is an image backup possible directly to a pc?
How do I setup the network card of my pc, DHCP?
Backup R30i B on pc

no to dhcp
in hostcom on the controller unlock ftp access, (and i have found it works better if you set a username and password) and set an i.p. address to the robot
in your pc set a compatible ip address
use an ftp Cliet software to access the controller and copy every file on the robot.that being said, you will not a file that will allow you to easily create a new robot in roboguide.

I use FileZilla or Total Commander to backup to my PC. It is an FTP server over Ethernet.
In my mind, FileZilla is easy to setup and use. And I like the GUI. I have also written a procedure with pictures to set it up.
You need to setup your PC to use a static IP address on the same network as the robot.

And with Roboguide ?
-
I have never done it with roboguide. Not sure if it is possible. I stay away from Roboguide if at all possible.

Do you mean by Roboguide it is not possible to load tp files to the controller?
Can Roboguide only be used to program a virtual robot, and is there no way to transfer your files to the real robot.
I already opened the webbrowser of the real robot, it seems to be possible to upload files from the real controller there.
But can you also upload files from the controller by the webbrowser? -
TP files can be loaded to the controller in Roboguide. You can go to the My Workcells folder on your hard drive and find the robot, open that folder and paste the programs you'd like into the MC or UD1 folders to load into the controller. Use the virtual iPendant to load the programs through the file menu just like you would on a real robot. You do need to make sure options and configuration between the source and destination controllers are the same or you could run into trouble.
If you want to create a new robot in Roboguide, you can do this with an "All of the Above" backup from another robot. When choosing the robot creation method, choose "from a file backup" and Roboguide will use the file named backdate.dt to create the virtual robot. This has probably been discussed elsewhere on the forum.
I'm sure others on the forum have other methods of loading programs to virtual robots and I'd like to hear about it.

I do not want to load the files to the virtual robot, but to the real robot by roboguide that is connected to the real robot.
But so far I did not found how. -
In that case, save the files you want to transfer from Roboguide by using Roboguide's default web browser. It behaves just like the web browser on the real robots. After they are saved, you can send them to the real robot via Filezilla.

You can Export programs direct from Roboguide to a real robot using a couple different methods. You need to have robots set up in the Robot Neighborhood with the IP address so you can select them during the Export process. Type in a Name for the robot and then the IP address in the Hostname field when you add a new robot to the Robot Neighborhood.
One method is to right click on the TP program and select Export, To Robot, then select the robot by clicking on the Robot icon in the bottom right corner, then Click on Export.
Another method is to Export a list of programs all at the same time. Click on Project at the top of the screen, then Export, then Edit List. Click on the Memory Import/Export tab if it is not highlighted. You can select multiple TP and other file types then click on Apply then OK to close the list. The robot will need to be in Controlled Start to export any system variable files and may the .IO files too. You should not export .SV files to the robot without knowing what they are for. Now that the list is ready, click on Project, Export, To Robot, click on the robot icon in the bottom right and select the robot to export to, then click on Export.

Thanks,
If they are exported directly from Roboguide as you instructed, nothing should be done after transferring on the side of the teachpendant?
I mean you don't have to go to 'file' and load the files in the teachpendant? -
Correct, the TP programs are loaded right into the controller and are ready to run. You can't export a program to the robot that is currently selected, you need to select another program in the pendant first.
