Hi, folks
I want to upgrade for the future to be save
just installed 2 new batteries in the cabinet, and made a backup of the drive.
Is it possible to upgrade win95 to install win XP ?
then all the drivers and installed soft is still working ?
i mean not a new installation of XP.
Maybe i must install all on a new IDE harddisk formatted FAT16 or FAT32 and win XP?
then i have the original harddisk still working as reserve part.
It is better to have a copy harddisk at hand, when hardware problems appear.
I am a stand allone welder and have a kuka KR16 krc1 in the basement.
i dont use it every day, but it weld tig with wire feeder perfectly !! after ours testing etc..
now i use it for plasma cutting to
now all is working perfect, and want to be save for the furure

Hi, folks

....If You want to be safe, You should invest in a safety fence. On the picture I don't see any safety devices near the robot.
I think You are not allowed to use the robot in that environment, anywhere on earth. For the other questions: never touch a running system.
Edit: You can make a copy or an image of the harddisk, that would be a good idea. -
I have a ghost copy of the harddrive, but want to know if i could upgrade to XP
and for safety, there is always only me at work, and at a save distance, thats not a problem, but i understand what you mean. -
I think it is not possible to upgrade to XP.
You have a KRC1, the first systems with XP are KRC2, so You won't have much fun.
Even if it would be possible You won't have any benefit, XP is outdated just like Win95. -
thanks, think you are right
Today i made a 1 to 1 copy of the drive to an other harddisk with Ghost Backup
feels good to have a spare system in case a hardware problem with the drive comes up.

I heard about people upgrading old krc2 (that came with win95) to WinXP (like krc2 ed05).
But I don't have details.
Like Hermann, I also think krc1 hardware isn't compatible with XP.
