... I connect a keyboard to the controller (is this correct? not to the PS2 in the mobile panel) but DEL button is not working.
I should connect the keyboard to the panel or in the controller?
you did not state KRC type, motherboard version, BIOS version, type or if your keyboard or even if your keyboard is recognized...
keyboard connects to kuka PC. older KPCs had DIN/5 or PS/2 connectors. more recent ones have USB. more than one interface may be available. note that only USB is hot-pluggable, this means that if you connect keyoboard to DIN or PS2 connector, you must do so BEFORE powering up robot controller. such keyboards are detected and integrated ONLY on powerup, not later.
i recall buying extension cable for my keyboard some 28 years ago (good old days in Pforzheim, Germany). but the cable had intermittent fault and as a result computer would freeze at random intervals. the only solution was to reboot ... or to not use that extension.
so i brought it back to the store, promptly got replacement (which was fine) but the sales person there just threw the returned cable into a pile of new ones. he just did not understand (or bother to check) that keyboard cable could be causing intermittent lockups. i tried to explain that this will just affect next client but this guy was not phased at all. oh well... thank goodness for advances and USB peripherals.

Sorry for not sending the info regarding the particular robot.
Attached some photos that will help with the problem. The robot is an old KUKA robot, 20-30 years (not sure). The keyboard conector in the controller is not PS2, it is and old AT 5 pin conector. I already get a old keyboard.

that may work for some sale on ebay but i see no tech specs. some krc1 i guess...
if you are using keyboard on the teach pendant, and DEL key does not work, press NUM key to toggle off numeric keypad.or connect external keyboard and then power up...

Hello Panic,
Sorry for the lack of tech specifications. Below some tech info:
TYP: KC1
Art nr: 00104265
U: 19-30v
SPEICHERPLATZ 1 64MB
Interbus LWL
Actually I have got two keyboards connected, the first one in the controller and the second one directly in the teach pendant. F1 or DEL buttom is not responding in none of them. I tried as you recommend me to press NUM key in the pendant, switch off and on again the controller but nothing changes.
Please if some more tech information is needed I could try to provide it. What do you think I should try next?
kind regards
xilimilik

does it react if you are pressing F1 for example? it may be dead or corroded interface on the motherboard...
-
Does the NumLock LED react to presses?
-
NumLock LED can work on any keyboard as long as keyboard is powered. (keyboard has own processor that controls LEDs and scans keys).
even if keyboard LED can be toggled, it is clear that keyboard iself may be operational (at least to some degree). this however still does not guarantee that keyboard is communicating with the PC or that PC is responding to key presses. maybe botherboard just locks up and does nothing until reboot....
boot may also be prevented if some hardware is not ok, maybe memory module or card is not seated correctly, or is malfunctioning.

No, is not reacting after pressing F1 or DEL.
-
You have to plug the keyboard into the mainboard.
The keys on original KCP work only after correct boot.
The connector for keyboard at the KCP was only an extension cable.
If it does not react on any key, probably the capacitors on the mainboard are weak.
