Hello guys ! I need help
I am a big fan of robotics, there is some time I was offered a former FANUC ! The S-700, with only 1600 hours ..
I spend a lot of temp restored, and then it came time to turn it on !
All works, some little problems (emergency stop outside, coder who lost their memory)
Then TeachPendant that blocks ...
The CPU all green LED blinks and the first red light stays on fixed (RAM parity).
After several tests it turns out that all the problem comes from the FROM .. I can start the CPU without the FROM module, but when I replace the module FROM blocks the cpu ..
I buy a new FROM module on Ebay, but unfortunately I do not have the "MASTER" Robot for restored. I have the cable for the PC but here, I do not find KFloppy, and I can not find the "MASTER" ..
I contacted FANUC but it was very clear, as an individual, it will not do much for me. I really need a kind soul ..
Thank you in advance ..
FANUC S-700 with system RJ. I need you ...

press F3 init then F5 start and see is there is software on the FROM
-
Thank you for the answer !
I did the manipulation, but nothing ..
I think memory (FROM) is corrupt. Let me explain.First configuration: I start the CPU with the FROM, nothing's going on, the green LED lights well but the startup sequence seems stuck .. The "TeachPendant" remains on the screen "TeachPendant Ready".
Second configuration: I start the CPU without the FROM the "TeachPendant" says "error 36: System software not loaded"
I made "INIT" and "START", but the message "Error 36: System software not loaded" backThird configuration: I start the CPU without the FROM and then I added in operation, I check it is properly taken into account, I use the function "DIAG" and "SHOW" FROM the memory is taken into account.
I made "INIT" and "START", the LEDs that put in the same situation as in the first configuration and nothing .. -
It seems you lost your core software and you will have to reload it.
Do you have the disks that contain that software ?`(and indeed, Fanuc won't help you)
-
Thank you more for your help !
Unfortunately no, I 're no disk or diskette ..
I have lots of paper documentation , but no digital file ...
I think it is just enough to restore the software but I 're not the files needed for restore.
I was not specified, the robot remained 16 years off .. But the battery of the CPU still had a can of juice ( 0.86VDC ) ..
Is it possible to take the backup of another S- 700, and restore my robot ? ( If the hardware configuration and the same course) -
Backup and restore of a RJ-robot is only possible with both robots having a memorycard slot and BMON version 2, but most of the RJ's don't have that.
Unfortunately I am not at work the next week, but if you can wait that long I can help you with the software.
We don't have S-700 robots, so I don't have a staightforward solution, but at least you will have something to experiment with. -
I have a bmon Version 02.00 and I have the function backup and restore from a memory card in the " TeachPendant " .
I can also be purchased adapter to Integrate the memory card to the CPU if it is the only solution.
There are not possible to transfer these files by the RS- 232-C Port positioned on the main console ? (I have the cord )
Or even through the RS232 port positioned directly on the CPU? ( I also have the cord / adapter)Sincerely you help me, so I have all the time you want ..
Thank you once again ! -
Maybe a RS-232 bachup is possible with rom 2.0, but I don't know how, and I would be very interested if you find a way.
I have a bmon Version 02.00 and I have the function backup and restore from a memory card in the " TeachPendant " .
Nice !
If you can find a working S-700 with the same configuration you can restore.
In the text is how to do that. (never tried myself, we don't have rj's with rom 2.0)
You will need maximum 4 2mb ram-cards, or one ram-card and a computer that can read and write it.I have to go now, until next week.

Hello !
I buy the board yesterday for SRAM PCMCIA module and a PCMCIA SRAM 2MB card.
I think there must be a solution to load the software by RS232, I will try to find the solution.
They miss me That a backup " valid " for my robot . I'll try after receiving the PCMCIA module and the PCMCIA card to make a backup and a restore , maybe her walk away !
I really thank you for your help .. I find really stupid to have to scrap a functional robot just because I lack a backup ..
I will keep you posted on the progress !
A question the Soft this finds you there on the FROM or ROM? -
I am sorry, it took a lot more time I thought it would...
The software I have is S-500 and S-420 only. But, the good news, I have found a complete set for you.
I have tried, and it works on my robots.Send me your email-adres and I will send you a link.

Hello,
No worries , take all the time you need !
You are already very nice to take time to help me !I send you my email address in PM.
Thank you !

Hello kluk. The topic is a bit old, but I also have an old robot.:). I have S500 connected to RJ controller.Benoit 31380 Thank you for your help too.The core software of my RJ controller crashed. Can you share the software backups you mentioned with me? I'm really in trouble.Thank you in advance for your help. Best Regards
-
Hello Serdigi,
As I said above, I am not able to make a back-up from a RJ-robot because my robots do not have the right configuration, so I don't have any back-up file.
However, I stil have the core software files. (I only have to find them...)
If you send me a PM with your email adres, I can send you a we-transfer-link so you can download them.
The file is to big to e-mail.

Hello Kluk. How are you?
I know I caused you trouble.
I sent you my mail in a private message.
We were manufacturing with the problematic robot.
That's why your email is very important to me.
Thank you for helping me.
I could be fired from my job because of this problem caused by the robot.
Thanks again....
Best Regards....
