I am looking for the feature to have motion preview by pressing i + motion key in the 4d view. Fanuc responded to a hot line request that I need option R764. Is this an option I need to buy then upload to my teach pendant via usb?

To install an option, you need to have the original software and ask Fanuc a PAC number.
They will request software type and version, controller id and S/W serial no. (all in menu/status/version ID).Then, you go in CTRL Start mode and choose install option.
Select the option needed and keypunch the PAC no.p.s.:On newest robot, you do not need CTRL Start mode to install option.

You can kinda show a preview, even if you don't have the option.
To do it, you just go to the test cycle menu, disable motion, and then run the move. The graphics will update, but the robot will stay where it is physically.
Granted this is pretty clunky compared to the option.

I was informed that we needed another option, 560 US dollars per robot to get the 4D graphics package RTL-R764. We currently have Option 4D Standard R782

I will definitely try and figure out the test cycle menu feature you are talking about. Sounds like a good way to do this without the expensive option. If we had one robot, the 560$ would be fine but we have over a hundred unfortunately.
