We load a 13.8MB file size which has 127 lines into the KRL but it doesnt accept the main source file. The program is generated by delcam powermill. Is there a way to load large file with thousands of line into the KRL. Btw our robot is KR120 with track.

    Thanks a lot!

    Controller model? KSS version?

"Doesn't accept" -- what error messages are produced? What symptoms do you see?

And how does a program with 127 lines achieve 13.8MB of size? These numbers don't match up. But in general, I don't recall files of that size ever working in KRL.

Hi skyefire, it is a KRC4 model, KS ver is 8.3.98, KR C v8.3.12 and the error is compilation error cause it is failing to load one src file which has the 13mb size, im sorry for the typo error, it is a127k+ lines. I made some changes on the postp's split points from 40k to 130k lines cause i thought it would solve the issue since it is generating 4 sub programs plus the main program if the postp is set to 40k lines.

    thank you!

Can you edit the program into even smaller sub-programs? Load each smaller sub-program one at a time into the editor and see if it compiles without errors. Once all of the sub-programs compile without errors, try loading the entire program. If that doesn't work, what is the error message? If you can't load the entire program (with all of the error free sub-programs), comment out all of the subs and try loading again. If that works, remove the comment character for the first sub program and load again. If that works, keep removing the comment character in front of each sub-program call one at a time reloading each time until you run into an error. What's the error message?

There is a memory limit for programs but it hard to know what the limit is and how close you might be to it.

These programs sound very large. What are you doing with so much code?

    Building robotic welding systems.

Also, try loading the DAT file first, then the SRC file. Sometimes that helps. But in the end, I suspect you're simply going to have to reduce the module size, or break it up into smaller sub-modules and daisy-chain them.

I'm guessing that you're generating CNC-style code here, correct? CNC machines are fine with gazillions of tiny motions, but robots really need to be programmed with fewer points, further apart, and filling in the intervening motion on their own. Robot motion control models really don't like having lots of motion points very close together. Squeezing CNC code into a robot is still something of an art form.
