Hello Robot Forum!
New member here. Was doing some research about robots and stumbled upon this place. Anyways, no clue if anyone has an answer or not but: are there any specific industry/applications/companies that use vision systems with their robots? Especially vision systems outside of just image analysis? More interested in laser systems such as FANUC's 3DL iRVision with either the laser or LED. Very interested in who uses these particular products...
For example, I watch some of FANUC's youtube videos and notice that some of their huge robots (particularly automotive videos) don't have cameras installed on their arm, but some of their smaller robots do. I haven't done any research on other robotic arm companies, but I do know that Cognex is also a huge vision systems manufacturer. I believe cognex uses mostly image analysis in their systems and provide only one kind of sensor that uses lasers.
Can anybody comment? Just really curious if the market for these laser vision systems is large and who the major players are. Do companies like Ford, GM, or Boeing use laser vision?
Thank you so much for your time
