Hi there,
i am trying to tig weld a stainless steel boss with 20 gauge stainless steel sheet metal by using MovC command.
what i have been noticing is that all the points around the round boss i teach, some of them robot won't go one point to another in the same out side perimeter of the boss. it will make an arc like move where it will go up and down in circular move. or wants to go down in circular. how do i make sure that it follows the boss round in perfect circle?
i need help please.
thanks
movC interpolation

Make sure you have a good TCP and that you are teaching the points have the same distance from the end of the tool to the part you are welding.

What controller are you using? Is the torch changing angles as it moves? Not staying perpendicular to the part?

there are 4 reasons for this:
1) you have too close many points in the circle and that can canculate different arc
2)you are close to a singularity and the robot makes an akward move. try to change the angle in z axis
3)TCP as mentioned from samaniego721
4) Parameter. you need to change a parameter if you see the effects that 95devils describes -

Thanks a lot. -
