The ROM chips you can remove from the MM14 board are the system software (like windows XP, or Vista. In your case Windows 3.1). The chips you can not remove (soldered on to board) have all the jobs, files, parameters... However, if you remove these chips from the board they will loos there memory. The capacitor on this board hold the chip on and hold the memory. Once removed, poof, no more data.
By the way, if you remove the proms from the sockets and try and read them all you will get is HEX data. Nothing you can read or do anything with.
