Judging by the picture of the computer it looks like the cf-card is missing so the controller won't boot. That's (probably) why the flexpendant is stuck on the connecting screen. If you don't have the cf-card with the boot image / robotware installation you need get one (from abb) and install it in the computer.

I am a beginner with ABB robots. We recently purchased an older ABB robot with a controller, and I have gathered the following information
Type: IRB 6640 M2004, IRC5 Controller.
There were several parts missing when it came to us,so we have purchased ,flex pendant and its cable etc.
I have successfully powered on the robot, but I'm encountering an issue where the Flex Pendant screen shows "Connecting to the robot controller" and it is not progressing to the next step.
I checked the connection at the computer's port, and noticed that the port connected to the teach pendant is only blinking the amber LED. The green LED has not turned on, and after a few minutes, the amber light turns off as well.
I have attached the photos.
Could anyone provide feedback or suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

The controller is an IRC5. I would recommend to take the serial number and then contact ABB tech support with it. They can provide detailed information about the original system and probably about the history. Manuals, circuit diagrams, etc. can be downloaded from ABB Library.

I have KUKA KRC2 with Version V5.5.16.
I am reaching out to share an issue I've encountered while working on our robot program for filling materials onto trays from a machine.
The problem lies with the $OV_PRO command, which we're using to adjust the speed of the robot at particular points along a straight line. Specifically, I need speed changes at four linear points (P1, P2, P3, and P4) in the program.
I wrote my program as below,
$OV_PRO = 30
LIN P1 CONT Vel = 2 m/s
LIN P2 CONT Vel = 2 m/s
$OV_PRO = 100
LIN P3 CONT Vel = 2 m/s
$OV_PRO = 30
LIN P4 CONT Vel = 2 m/sThe issue arises because when the robot encounters the $OV_PRO command, there is a small pause before it moves to the next line in the program. This pause is causing a small delays in our operations. I am reaching out to the team to see if anyone has encountered a similar issue or if there are any suggestions on
how we can avoid this pause ?while using the $OV_PRO command.

Kuka KRC2 ed05, KR-150 with version of V5.4.14,
Yesterday, I successfully copied the contents of my original 30GB Fujitsu HDD to a larger 40GB Seagate HDD. Everything appeared to work well when I restarted the computer with the cloned HDD. However, when I attempted to resume hibernation on the Seagate HDD, the screen froze after displaying "RESUMING." In contrast, when I switched back to the original Fujitsu HDD, hibernation worked without any problems.
I sought advice from various online threads, which recommended reformatting and recopying the data to the Seagate HDD, but this did not resolve the issue. I also attempted to replace the hibernation file in the util/regutil directory with the original file from the Fujitsu HDD, but the problem persisted.
Cloning software: mini tools partition.
Please share your thoughts.

The problem was related to the KPS. First, we examined all the cables for any loose connections or moisture. We also confirmed the voltages, checking for 24 and 0 as required. We even tried replacing the ESC card with a functional one, but the error persisted. Ultimately, the problem was resolved when we replaced the KPS.

Robot B is experiencing specific errors like "unknown operation mode" and the activation of external emergency while troubleshooting. Various forums have been reviewed to address the issue, involving a check for potential loose connections and wiring problems. A reset of the ESC temporarily resolves the error, but it reoccurs automatically.
In the forum discussions, many users suggest replacing essential components such as KPS, MFC, and ESC to potentially rectify the situation. The plan is to transfer these modules from a functioning ROBOT A to Robot B.
Understanding the procedure to remove the KPS module both electrically and mechanically has been acquired. Additionally, precautions will be taken to create backups for both robots. However, there's concern regarding potential data loss ( programs and configuration data ) when swapping the KPS module between robots.
Is there any data transfer occur from Robot A to Robot B while replacing these modules (mastering data, programs, etc )

This problem may occur if there were any write errors while cloning.
The tool I am using is MiniTool Partition Wizard
First step:
check for read errors
select hdd -> mouse right cklick -> select Surface Test
result should look like this
Second step:
check for File System errors
select hdd -> mouse right cklick -> Check File System
result should look like this
AS final step I also would check drive for viruses
Assuming that
BIOS settings for hard drive is correct
Jumpersetting on the hard drive is correct
good ribbon cable
the "FUJITSU MHR2030AT 30GB" is just 'a new one' because we bought it as second hand.
I followed your instructions and obtained the outcome as depicted in the photographs, with no errors found.
Because everything works fine as soon as I attach my old HDD drive, I think the BIOS, jumper settings, and ribbon cable are good.
They're not using the KSR, they pulled the HDD and used CloneZilla offline
First thing to check: use a keyboard on the KRC and get into the BIOS menu, then see if the BIOS can see and ID the new HDD.
Check the M/S jumpers on the new HDD. That's important for IDE drives. Might also try disconnecting the CD-ROM temporarily just to ensure there's no confusion.

Yes, the new HDD is identified, according to the BIOS menu that I checked.
We are opening the metal case to replace the HDD while the jumper is outside the metal case. Therefore, we are not altering the jumper connection; it remains the same.
I tried turning on the robot after unplugging the CD-rom, but I continue to receive the same problem as 'error loading operating system'.

I read through numerous threads on related subjects in robot form, and I learned a lot from each one. Based on that, I followed these instructions to copy the Kuka drive. Unfortunately, when I connect my new drive to the robot, I receive the error message as "Error loading operating system."
Has anyone else have this problem before? Please help me with it if you can.
Steps.
1. took out the HDD in the Robot.
2. connected the HDD to the Laptop using a usb/ide adapter.
3. made an image backup of Robot HDD to an another external storage using clonezilla through a bootable usb stick.
4.disconnected the robot HDD and connected new HDD to the laptop.
5.copied the image backup to the new HDD using clonezilla, showing message as cloned successfully in the laptop screen.
6.Connected the new HDD to the kuka Robot.
When I turn on the robot ,getting error as 'error loading operating system'
the difference between the drives are the existing kuka hdd is 'FUJITSU MHT2030AR 30GB' and the new hdd is 'FUJITSU MHR2030AT 30GB'
can anyone kindly share your thoughts and recommendations.

did you check if USB is enabled in the BIOS?
also KUKA controllers will not boot from USB stick unless if it can confirm that the USB stick is from KUKA.

where can I find that option to check whether USB is enabled in the BIOS.
I couldn't find any option for that. If I open boot options in the setup it is showing option as primary display.
It is indicated in the advanced system setup that the USB legacy support is enabled.
I've included the appropriate photographs in this attachment.
KUKA controllers will not boot from USB stick unless if it can confirm that the USB stick is from KUKA.
Since I don't have a KUKA stick with me, could you guys kindly recommend a different method of using Clonezilla to start the KUKA computer?
Do we also require a KUKA-specific CD for that, or can we use any bootable CD with Clonezilla?

I'm attempting to clone the robot's internal IDE drive. I have clonezilla-equipped bootable USB attached to the robot. Unfortunately, after looking through the PC's Boot settings, I was unable to locate a USB boot option.
What can be the reason for this? Do I need to find different option for the cloning ?can anyone kindly share your thoughts and recommendations.

Check logs for details. Also try partial archive to narrow down the problem - try just programs or just message logs or just single file. It may be some locked file in which case one or more partial archives may work

this steps worked ,I got archiving succeeded
However, the application backup occasionally fails. After several tries, I will get a successful backup for application archive.
