Hello,
In your opinion, what is the best way to make a communication between fanuc R30iA controller and a C# application (specific developpement) running under Windows XP
Do i envisage to use Karel or TPE is enough to do so??
Thanks in advance

I think you can do this only in Karel. TPE is just better way to do movements. Karel is more powerful to write communication and specific functions.
What sort of communications do you need to do?
I have been using C# to communicate with the robot, using RobotInterface from Fanuc. It consists of an ActiveX that allows communication with the robot controller. It allows you to pass register and position register values back and forth, set and get the state of I/O and various other things. It also allows access to all of the system variables. The down side is that you have to pay Fanuc for the software, although it's not very expensive.
I have also done some basic work with Karel and Socket Messaging in the past to pass simple messages back and forth between an external system and the controller. This requires the relevant options to be installed on the controller, which escape me at the moment. There are also some other ways to communicate, but which you choose will be dependent on exactly what data you need access to.
Hello,
How do i send position data of a component recorded using a machine vision system from the PC to R30iA controller? I need to store the data into a position register as the program executes. This loop has to be executed every time a component is placed in the workspace of the robot.
