You could set up an FTP server on the robot and make the PLC send the command 'get errall.ls' which would get you the file which stores the last 100 errors and alarms. There probably is a better way.

I want to do it remotely so I cant connect to the robot locally. As far as I understand the http-client is only accessible while I am locally connected to the robot. Or am I understanding it wrong?

A web server runs on every Fanuc robot. (by default)
You can download the data with an http client, e.g. web browser or programmatically. The web server only supports http not https !

Yes, I understand that what if I want to access those logs while I am offsite? For when a customer has a fault in there production line and I want to see the error/alarm logs while I am still in office.

I think that's a different issue.
It's about network infrastructure and remote maintenance.
The robot should/may not be connected directly to the public network!
