Hi,
A few of questions about the ethernet ports.
We are currently using Netconf 1 for programming and Netconf2 for a TCP connection with an external management software.
Up to now we have been happy enough to connect locally, however we wish to be able to connect both locally from the controller and remotely through an industrial router (ewon).
To this we have had success connecting the front port to a powered network switch and connecting the local machine and ewon to that switch.
We essentially want to do the same thing in a neater way hidden within the controller, by putting a ethernet splitter or PoE ethernet switch internally, routing the Netconf 1 ethernet to the front port via this splitter with the other port going to an rj45 connector on the back of the controller. This means remote access can't be accidentally left out and the front port still is operational for use locally if remote access fails.
Are the Netconf ethernet powered?
Would a simple splitter work?
Is there a simple way of putting network switch inside, without needing another power source?
Should I just accept having to put network switch in with single phase plug hanging out the back of the controller?
