FTB Client Connection Error with Staubli CS8 controller as a server: Error: Could not connect to server

    I am trying to create a FTB Client Connection with Staubli CS8 controller as a server and am getting the error in FileZilla. I have tried different FTP Clients and still the same error. I am able to ping J205 connection on CS8 via 192.168.0.54 IP address and Port 5000 in the Mac OS terminal! I am unable to connect FTP (FileZilla App) to CS8. It fails to connect with the following error:

    Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...

    Error: Connection timed out after 100 seconds of inactivity

    Error: Could not connect to server

    I have tried so many ways including but not limited to disabling firewall and allowing Port 5000 (the only port that establishes the connection with FTP client) and still could not figure out what is wrong. Any advice is highly appreciated. I thought it is an old firmware on CS8 as a possibility, but no way to access staubli downloads. I have read the manual in and out, and am running out of time for my project. Any advice is greatly appreciated from the community.

    if you have to set a destination folder please select the /urs or usr/ folder

    Hi, Thanks for your prompt reply. I have tried the maintenance mode with Port 21 and no success. the only port that I discovered establishing the initial connection is 5000. I do not even know why that is the case or maybe another port would do the trick!

    As mentioned earlier, I am using MAC OS and FTP Surfer seems to be a Windows OS application only. I do not have SRS package since the robot I bought did not come with it. I appreciate any advice while I am desperately trying to resolve this issue. Thank you for your time once again.

    I also found that I was purging my Network IP on MAC OS which I set to be the same as the one on CS8 controller the entire time which is why I was able to ping itself on the terminal and the FTP client. I feel foolish now. Basically, I was not even able to ping the CS8 Server at all! Could the ports be closed? I unscrewed and the CS8 and the J204 and J205 are both soldered to the PCB. A

    Another thing is I have the option not choose the server type! Please see the attachment. Any advice on how to connect to the CS8 FTP Server outside of the Staubli Manual would be highly appreciated.

    I use only Filezilla with the configuration :

    In General :

    Protocol : FTP

    Host : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

    Encryption : Only Use Ftp (insecure)

    Logon Type : Normal

    User : Maintenance

    Password : xxxxxxxx

    In Advanced :

    Default remote direcory : \usr\usrapp

    in SpeedConnect, just Host, User, Password and Port.

    On windows 7 or 10, the port is 21. Don't anything change the CS8 configuration, only the TCP Address. I don't use Mac. Never issue.

    SRS is free to load or unload files ! You can download it from Staubli Website.

    Galet - Thanks for your reply. I only have Mac OS and it is an integration requirement for my project to be in the apple eco system. Two things:

    A) I tried your settings including port 5000 (for Mac OS) and it did not work.

    B) Staubli does not allow download of the SRS on their website. Here is the link but I do not want to use their software anyways. https://www.staubli.com/us/en/robotics…-9403723079-tab

    I tried two other FTPs and no success. I am guessing there might be a setting on the CS8 causing all these. Maybe ElEsgalho could read my previous comments and provide feedback. Thanks both of you for your time and help once again.

    Ok. If you don't want to use it, this question is closed. I use frequently Fillezilla without any problem.
