New laptop doesn't have Ethernet so I am being forced to get a dongle, but I can choose. Any good recommendations?
Minimum is having an Ethernet adapter (100Mbps+). Two Ethernet ports would be even better, DB9 serial interface or other useful gadgets for commissioning would be cool

I've moved the thread to a more applicable board............. 
If it helps, I would look at the OEM Industrial Robots you are likely to use and 'dongle up' according to what they use.
