So I happen have a rj3ib with a r2000ia 200f, and unfortunately, the controller is set for a 165f. The end goal for the robot is going to be a CNC, meaning a way to run it from fusion 360. I'd like to do with as little effort and cost as possible but I don't have much hope for the stock system. Is there anyway to change the robot without doing a complete restore of the software? I have no way to get the correct core software. I would be willing to edit the current core software and try restoring from that. If there's no way to get the controller to match then I'm going to try converting the entire control over to linux cnc and basically start from scratch, possibly trying to reuse the servo amp.

I think you will have to get the correct software from Fanuc, which will cost some money.
Maybe you are some kind of controls wizard, I don't know, but I have a hard time believing that you will be successful converting the controls. Best bet is to get the correct software or buy a robot that is actually functional.

Riley,
Could you please provide some context? How did you get the robot? Are you a hobbyist or is this for a profession?
Honestly, I'm just curious. I have thought about this kind of project but it seems like industrial equipment is so proprietary. I can't imagine doing anything without access to Fanuc's resources.
Also please update if you have any breakthroughs.

I'm just doing this as a hobby, I've got a couple I have an old s420iw that works with an rj2 and more recently got the r2000ia 200f. they were both really cheap "as is". So i'm not surprised this one had issues. Yeah fanuc doesn't tell you much of anything about their controls, at least nothing that specific. I still have some hope for the fanuc controls but if not then im going to try decoding the fssb interface to the amp.
