I am running Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC variations, mostly
• 1756-L6*
• 1756-L7*
• 1756-L8*
Our application at hand is running AB 1756-L73.
We are trying to setup communications to Weld Tech Corp WTC 6000, version A15-600 weld timer.
The WTC software (Gateway) connects to a PC (server), and can connect by Ethernet IP to Robot or PLC, but I am connecting to the Robot Controller directly to get weld schedule data. I think I want a separate connection to the PLC to send/receive weld timer settings, and report the weld complete data (faults, etc) from the Controller/PLC to the PC software.
So far the WTC company is not forthcoming with a direct solution- has anyone had related experience? Any ideas for a work-around?
My questions are
1. How to send PLC internal output data to the WTC (unique production number, production model type)?
2. This data (unique production number, production model type) also then needs to be tied to the WTC History data table for historical lookup.
3. We also need WTC data transfer back to the PLC (fault notices).
thanks for any and all help!
