So I have 2 ArcMate 120iBe robots each with the R-30iA, both have been converted to Handling Tool. Prior to yesterday, both robots have been working just fine for the past 2 months with all established EIP Comms working. These robots are communicating with an AB L27ERM PLC, all comms in the PLC tree are working...no issues! That is until today, now neither of the robots are communicating with the plc, I've tried pinging their ip addresses from my laptop and the requests all time out. On the robot side I have switched ports and that didn't work, I tried assigning a different ip address and that also didn't work. I removed the plant wide network ethernet cable, thinking that it may be due to network traffic....this also did not resolve my issues. I used a different enet cable and connected it directly from the port 2 of the robot controller to a port on the plc (yes I verified that the plc port was enabled). This also did not yield any positive results.
On the plc side I spent a good amount of time with tech support, change this, change that...did you try this, did you try that. They finally told me it was a Fanuc issue and they cannot help me! Big surprise there!
I'm still hung up on the fact that NOTHING changed on the plc or the robot configuration between yesterday and today, and after 2 months all of a sudden the robots cannot communicate with the plc! I'm stumped and I don't know what else to do or check at this point. I'm hoping someone here may have encountered something similar, or at least can nudge (or shove very hard) me in a different direction to get this resolved. No comms means my project cannot move forward! Thanks in advance!!!
