It came with the ProfiNet Card. Also, which version of the PN driver to use depends heavily on the KSS version the KRC is running, and the hardware/firmware revision of the PN card.

How, exactly, does it "not install"? Describe what you did and what happened (or failed to happen).

The PN driver is critical for the operation of the card. If your KRC2 is running KSS 5.6, then it should support USB. You may be able to copy the CD's contents onto a USB stick using another computer, then install on the KRC from the USB.

What does this mean? If it installed properly, you should now be able to carry out the configuration.

Good day. Okay, sorry, here is how it is: I did not buy the card from Kuka as they don't have this card, so I bought it directly from Siemens. It only came with Siemens discs, which I installed, but I guess it needs the Kuka Profinet CD, which they no longer sell. So, this is the issue I am sitting with."

If you had said that up front, you could have saved everyone a lot of wasted time. Unfortunately, all my Profinet work was with KRC4s, not KRC2s, so I don't have any of the installers for KRC2s. Also, I'm not 100% certain the Siemens card will function in a KRC -- I don't know if the KUKA version had any firmware modifications to work with the KUKA driver, or if the hardware/firmware was 100% "Siemens stock".

PROFINET CP_1616 card from Siemens works ok with KRC2 ed05. I have done couple of projects in past with PROFINET on KRC2 ed05 and using CP_1616.

Problem now is that you need to install KUKA PROFINET driver for KRC2, but KUKA no longer supports or sell the software for KRC2.

From Kuka of course... That is if they are willing to deal with something they stoped dealing with decades ago.

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2
