Hello all,
In 97 we installed 2 Fanuc R-2000iB gantry robots to service 4 Mori lathes.
Last year at the beginning of summer we had a problem with signaling to one lathe. After calling the local service company we found that slowing the robot down when servicing the lathe cleared up the problem. It appeared that the signaling wasn't happening fast enough or something was hanging??? The service provider said it could be due to the controller age or heat but no real idea. We cooled the controller, but no change and no other lathe interface seemed to be affected.
The beginning of summer this year the same thing happened and we slowed the robot another 25% and the problem went away but now is running considerably slower than the rest and affecting production. Also the service providers do not seem to have any answers other than the system is old.
Is there anything else I can look into? Has anyone had any issues with this? I am at a loss right now as where to look or who I can get to help with this.
Thank you
