Hi,
Just wanted to ask for some experiences people have had with Fanuc ARC Mate 100i's that only have brakes fitted on J2 & J3. The particular model I'm working with is an A05B-1210-B201.
The issue I have is that when power is lost (from either turning off, safety tripping, or releasing deadman when TP is on etc) the J5 and J4 axis will fall/rotate. I have read one other post on this forum of someone that had a similar problem so at first I thought that this was normal operation of joints without brakes. However recently I am beginning to work on a M-6i A05B-1212-B202 which is almost the same model (With out welding obviously) with brakes only on J2 + J3 and when I release power the robot arm will hold its position, I can just barely move J5 by hand but seems to have quite a bit of resistance, enough to hold its position.
Just wanted to know if it is normal for the arm on the ARC mate to drop or if the motors need replacing? Or if there is anything to look at?
Your responses are appreciated
Thanks,
