I am returning back to Fanuc Robots after two decades away from them . I am trying to configure the I/O for my LRMate Robot which was donated to the College. I am using a Module A I/O Rack and have installed the controller board, one input and one output. I am receiving an error "Part Assignment Invalid" when I configured the Input to the following 1-17 1 1 1 but as I am entering the information, I noticed that error. On the controller, I notice the Link lite is not always on and the other two lights below are off. I tried to cycle power. What am I missing? Controller is A1F01A . Could the cable be installed wrong or installed in the wrong port?

Well it is only a 16 bit card normally so it should be 1-16 1 1 1.

Yes, I had 1-16, not 1-17 . I am thinking the cable might be installed wrong. Still trying to solve this issue

For the A1F01A the cable should be connected to JD1B and on the CPU it should be connected to JD1A.
You need to cycle power after you make these connections and when you change the IO config.
