I am going to a company that has a Government contract with the military, we are installing a cell there and they asked for our passports/Drivers Licence. Does anyone know what kind of checks companies like this do to allow access? Or what they look for in general? i have a record from almost 10 years ago, i am half way worried they will deny me access because of this. Thanks..
Background Check?

I dont think you should be worried about this. Passport or a recognized ID is normally required before you are allowed to enter and do commissioning in many companies. This is not for investigating your life history. I dont also think there is any law that states that if you have anything in the past you are not allowed to enter. As long as your name is registered as an external person coming for a project you will be allowed. Relax. Good luck.

It would depend what country you are in and how sensitive the nature of the work your employer carries out is.
