Hi everyone, i have run into the trouble of a "failed" DeviecNet communication bridge. According to tech support the part just needed to be replaced, just unplug, plug and play, but even with the new module the error still shows up on the pendant. So i checked all rotary switches, dip switches and wiring again for possible lose connections and corrosion on the wires, no luck. All the wires check out good for continuity and resistance but the error code still persists. The MWA tech said that it could be possible that the "new" DeviceNet could be faulty thats why its not working. Getting another replacement module tomorrow (March 16/2017) but my hopes are not very high for solving the problem.
So I am wondering if any of you have experienced something similar to my situation and what your finding were besides the general throw a part at it?

I realize my response is a little late, but I have experienced this on multiple occasions. When using DeviceNet a terminating resistor is normally used on each end of the cable. If you are receiving the blue device net module there is actually a switch that needs to be turned on. You can find the switch if you look into where the device net slot is on the module. Make sure that is on. I tried to take a picture of mine but can't focus on the switch.

Thanks fort the response david. I apologize for the late reply from my side, just making sure we are talking about the same part, this is the one i have on the robot:

If you could send me a picture (even if its not focused) that would be great. -
Thank you david, i check the position of the termination switches and they are in the corect setting. We have a miller tech come take a peak at the welding unit, according to MWA thats where the problem is if its still not working.

I was wondering what the solution to the problem was.

Long story short:
The communications board on the Miller Auto Access 450 failed which damaged the DeviceNet. So we ended up sending in the Welder for repairs and had to get another DeviceNet. -
HI do you have the manual about this robot, can you share it?
Thank you
