Good morning,
i would like to solve a problem.
On my robot, a irb 1400 abb, everiday i look on flex pendant a notification "Power Supply" so everytime someone turn off the robot, i lose data of calibration.
Last year i bought a new battery but i don't undestand why the battery is to be exhausted again.
Thank to all.

I think it's not the battery. What is the alarm code?
-
I had a robot w/ similar problems - ABB replaced the battery under warranty.
-
I read on the flexpendant this warning.
37072 battery end of life
When someone turn off the robot, the robot doesnt' lose calibration data of robot, interchange, station1 and station2.
Yesterday the electricity is gone and the battery worked very well but i have read on flexpendant that the battery is at end of lifeWhat do you think about ?
Thanks -

You mention flexpendant (touch screen ?) which indicates IRC5 but a IRB 1400 indicates S4/C/C+ controller, or is it a 1410 robot ?
Which battery did you replace ? The one in the robot ? If it's an IRC5 controller / generation then the positioner have an SMB as well and it has a battery as well... -
The battery voltage may be below the alarm trigger point, but still high enough to work. Before they replaced the battery, ABB suggested unplugging/re-connecting the connectors to the power supply/battery. (This was on an S4C+ 2400)
You can also check battery voltage under load - although finding a place to probe can be tricky. -
Sorry,i write quicly.
when i turn off the robot i don't lose the calibration data but i read on monitor that the battery is at the end of life.Francesco

You said FlexPendant but this error is from S4C+ (there's no FlexPendant for this robot, it's just TPU).
The battery mentioned in this error is not SMB battery.
It's the computer system battery inside the cabinet. This battery is used as UPS when you turn system off. In IRC5 robots this battery is replaced by the capacitor bank (Ultracap).Open your cabinet front door, at the bottom right of the panel there's a unit attached to the CPU. Remove screws and you have access to this battery.
Check battery revision. If it's <11 you have to change the full unit (battery + electronic components), if it's >=11 you can change only the battery. -
Hi,
the battery output is 23.2 volts.
I misure between red wire and black wire in output of the battery.
Is correct ?
Thanks to all

Mine measured 24 VDC with cabinet powered and battery connected. It also measured 24 with cabinet shut down - but I didn't wait very long to give the battery a chance to discharge. Battery is rated 21.6VDC.

To correct measure voltage you need to have load. This means you have to do measurement when you turn robot off and CPU is still on.
If robot is telling you that the battery is at end of life, just trust the robot and replace batteries. It's simple.

I had the same problem with one of our cabinets. I was told by ABB that if your unit(3HAC 5393-2) is before revision 10, than you must replace the entire unit and not just the battery. By unit I mean what you have pictured, sorry I don't know the actual name. I swapped our unit and got rid of the "Battery at end of life alarm".
DSQC508-3HAC 5393-2/09 found on the backside of the unit, you need number after the slash to be 10 or greater in order to only swap battery. -
bheinewalker has the correct answer. You have to swap the DSQC 508 to a working one.Not only the battery. Can be found here, it´s a exchange service:
