We are having IRB 1600ID robots & on particular 2 points when in manual mode the deadman switch is released the robot moves down 2 to 3 mm & in auto mode we found sometimes robot motion supervision. This leads to weld seam shifting.
Can anybody tell me why robot moving down when releasing deadman switch...?

We have mostly 2400's. On occasion an inverted robot drifts down when deadman released. Usually a brake slipping, we have had seals fail in the motor and allow the gearbox grease (oil) into the motor/brake.
We have had motion supervision faults when a brake seized (didn't release), or when the brake release relay started to fail.
